Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has left the door open for a potential Premier League comeback once his doping ban concludes in March 2025.
The French World Cup winner’s career faced uncertainty after initially receiving a four-year suspension in February. This threatened to sideline him until he was nearly 35, but a successful appeal reduced the ban to 18 months. Pogba is now set to return to training in January and resume playing in March.
Having featured in just 12 matches since rejoining Juventus from Manchester United in 2022, Pogba’s future in Turin seems unclear, especially under new manager Thiago Motta, who has reshaped the squad dramatically. Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus is likely to terminate Pogba’s contract by mutual consent, paving the way for the midfielder to seek a new chapter in his career.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports News, Pogba did not dismiss the idea of returning to the Premier League when asked about his future. “I will see what Juventus has in mind, but my focus is on returning to training and proving that I am still the same Paul Pogba with my qualities intact,” he said, hinting at unfinished business in top-flight football.
While Pogba stopped short of naming specific clubs, he appeared to rule out a third spell at Manchester United. When asked directly if he would return to Old Trafford, Pogba was quick to respond, “No, no, you cannot twist the question,” signaling that his future likely lies elsewhere.
In a separate interview in Italy, Pogba reaffirmed his loyalty to Juventus, ruling out a move to their Serie A rivals, AC Milan, even if Zlatan Ibrahimovic were to call him. “Impossible,” he declared, underscoring his commitment to Juve despite his current circumstances.
For now, Pogba’s focus remains on his recovery and proving his worth once more. Whether that journey leads him back to the Premier League or somewhere else remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Pogba’s next step will be highly anticipated.
