Joshua Kimmich, a key player for Bayern Munich, is someone who is willing to take on any role his team requires, which has only enhanced his overall performance.
Having spent the early months of 2024 playing as a right-back for both his club and the national team, Kimmich is now transitioning back to his preferred midfield position under the new Bayern coach, Vincent Kompany.
This shift aligns perfectly with his skills, but his adaptability as a player is closely tied to both his current position and his general approach to the game.
The 29-year-old is thoroughly enjoying his time under Kompany. “The ideas that the coach implements are extremely helpful to me,” Kimmich remarked in a September interview with BR24, as noted by @iMiaSanMia. “I can showcase my strengths in the manner he envisions for playing football. I recognize that he prefers to use me in midfield. However, I would never claim that my right-back days are behind me. I continue to play that position for the national team. I view my ability to operate in multiple roles as a significant asset, and it has undoubtedly contributed to my development.”
No matter where he is deployed on the field, the Germany captain always aims to be at the center of the action.
